The moment Jim along with Sasha Allen appeared on The Voice Live Shows, they set records because Sasha is the first transgender person on the NBC competition series to get past the Battle Rounds in the entire 21 seasons. Newtown's duo, Jim and Sasha Allen, have made it to the Top 8 in the 21-year history of The Voice Live Shows! Sasha declared his transgender status when they presented their audition packages during the Blind Auditions. According to Parade.com it was an easy choice. Sasha stated that it was a struggle to come up with a choice because he had to showcase a personal and vulnerable part of him in thousands and millions of people. He made the transition while it was still high school. This past week, during Fan Week, watching the people's support and their reactions as well as the ways they affected the other people that it was well-worth the risk. The Voice wasn't even around in the moment we performed this song. We received the song and we were over the moon. We already knew the song and had ideas on how to set it up.
